Is There life on Mars?

Lookbook.nu: factory

I watched Factory Girl today and it topped the list of favorite movies. At the moment half of my heart belongs to Factory Girl and the other to Almost Famous. Its funny, because when I think about it, I've always been fascinated with the concept of fame and the trashy glamour that hugs it. I'm talking way far back to since I was a youngin' as in 7+ years old. The lives of models and socialites, artist and actors have forever intrigued me. Instead of playing with cars I'd imagine and pretend to live a famous life.

The story of Edie Sedgwick left me both heartbroken and confused. Andy Warhol's help in destroying her makes me feel uneasy about loving his work yet much like Edie I too can't bring myself to not adore him, oddly enough.

Edie Sedgwick was an 'It' girl and we all know 'It' girls are much more exciting when we get to see their down fall. Queens being thrown of their luxurious thrown. The crumbling of their kingdom, theres something strangely beautiful in all of that. Wouldn't you agree?

Yup, who doesn't like a car crash? Then again stories such as casey Johnson's are heartbreaking.

Warhol had PLENTY of issues himself... it was his mess of self-esteem that helped bring her down, he didn't do it just to "be a dick". He wouldn't have created the art that he did without that complete lack of self-worth. So don't worry about still liking him ;)

p.s. you've been tagged. Can't believe I actually did one of these.

I have yet to see Factory Girl, but now that you mentioned it, I shall put it on my list. Love this outfit! Stripes + suspenders = match made in heaven.
