Rose; Age 10:
"I solemnly swear, to love you forever," Rose whispered into the petals of the delicate flowers as she stood and watched her garden. She wore a silly crown made of paper, speckled with glitter. At her feet lay two adorable creatures. Elegant kitties, oh they were a sight. One of them, Ruffles, wore a pink bow while the other, Pockets, wore a blue bow -- both made of satin. Together they purred and looked up at Rose, a pale girl with soft blushed cheeks. She petted them with affection, giggled as their soft snow white fur tickled her palms. Rose, was happy. She looked up at the sky and suddenly threw her arms and gave a spin, laughing all the while. She held her silly crown in front of her and sighed.
"Wouldn't it be wonderful to be a Queen, Ruffles?" She asked more to herself than the cat, "and oh how much fun it would be, Pockets," she murmured looking at her bare feet.
She thought of all the things she would do as Rose the Queen, long may she have lived. She would wear only the most exquisite gowns. In shades of course of, Rose reds; and subtle yellows, all kinds of blues, pearly whites, magical pinks, fairy greens, sheer glittery blacks. Just about any color besides orange she didn't think that suited her skin very well. Besides she'd look like a pumpkin! She would go and dance at all the balls. People would admire her beauty. She would dance with grace -- in fact so much -- that everyone would think she was floating across that marble floor. And painters from all over the world would come rushing with their paint brushes and funny hair to observe her and paint her at all stages of her life. Don't forget the poets and musicians. Her eyes lit up as she thought about how marvelous men would compose orchestras in her honor.
"Long live Queen Rose!" She shouted quietly, "and long live her beautiful kitties, Pockets and Ruffles," she looked at them with the most loving smile.
Rose would often lose days like this, imagining and wishing she could live happily ever after.
Just a little something I wrote, I plan on continuing it.
